About the study
One of one hundred and twenty-eight original compositions, each seeded so it is reproducible. A digital flower blooms in constant evolution: sinuous petals unfurl around a radiant living centre, fractal light bursts and pollen disperse, tendrils intertwine, roots expand and microorganisms divide — all in fluorescent neons on a dark field. Select a piece, shape the bloom, and save the current frame. A silent digital interpretation of fluorescence — light a material emits under excitation, not a photograph of one.
Fluorescence is a generative collection of 128 unique pieces grown from a single light source. Each work begins as a bloom of sinuous, flaring petals radiating outward, splitting into fractal particle bursts at their tips — a digital flower caught mid-explosion, its roots reaching down into the dark.
The pieces are drawn from the same visual language as the Lab's light studies: luminous lines, spectral colour, and particle systems that behave like living organisms — expanding, branching, and scattering under their own momentum.
No two pieces are alike. The set is generated locally, each one a unique arrangement of petals, pollen, and roots, and the collection exists as a fixed archive of one hundred and twenty eight works.
Fluorescence is an ongoing study in generative growth: a way of making a finite, finished collection out of an infinite process, and of letting light do the composing.
The collection is being developed in the Lab and will be released as a fixed archive. Each piece will be individually viewable and downloadable.
Fluorescence is an original generative work. The cover image and collection are produced locally by the STUDiiO site build, not derived from any external source or prior artwork.
